Some Ways To Extend Your Mobile Phone's Lifespan
Did you know that every single day, somewhere in the world someone is retiring a mobile phone? We may not know the exact number or all of the reasons behind this, but one thing is for sure, there are definitely a whole lot of mobile phones that get thrown to the trash or to some other place because it doesn't function anymore.
Since there isn't any mobile phone heaven, these things are thrown away to some dump site or something just like it to rot there. This poses a real problem to all of us because for one thing the materials used to manufacture these are scarce and is considerably valuable. On another note, mobile phones that are not disposed of properly could actually contribute to our pollution – which is a bad thing.
In our very own little way, we can help conserve our precious resources and limit the spread of pollution by making sure that our mobile phones do not die a premature death, metaphorically speaking.
1. Don't be throwing it around especially when you can't catch it.
Have you ever seen mobile phones breaking into several tiny pieces? Well, that is because of one thing. Person throws phone, phone collides with wall or pavement, and then that's the last thing that we've ever seen of our phones.
Granted that you throw or drop your phone with a strong enough force or a tall enough height, your phone will break and will get busted way too much that talking about repairing it would already be adding insult to injury. Granted that mobile phones are considerably sturdy enough to withstand a drop or two on the floor, this should not be reason for you to be careless or clumsy with your phone.
These things cost money and the production of these phones contributes to pollution, so try and keep your phone alive for as long as possible. This way, you would also be saving hundreds of dollars by not having to purchase a new phone.
2. Phones can't swim and neither are these water resistant, so don't let it come into contact with water.
Do you know what happens when mobile phones get wet, drenched or submerged in water? It is fairly safe enough to assume that most of the mobile phones produced these days aren't exactly built to withstand water. All the circuitry and electronics in your phone would simply just cease to function and would no longer work even if you make your phone bone dry.
And don't even think about repairs, because the cost of having to undo all the damage done might as well be used for you to purchase an entirely new phone. So when you're on the beach, or around a pool, don't ever place your phone in your pocket because you never know when you might take a dip or when someone might pull you towards the water against your will. Leave it in the car or in your bag or somewhere else.
